Today I wanted to show I made heat applied leather / leatherette patches. I couldn’t find any information online about how to do the adhesive part, but I was able to figure it out. The customer was super happy with the results. The biggest issue was how dirty the patches were after cutting. I need to figure out if I can put transfer tape on the leather to make it easier to clean. I tried a bunch of things to clean the patches, and baby wipes and denatured alcohol worked the best to clean them. I then used patch adhesive and the Stahl’s cap press to apply them to hats.
